Alaska Airedale Rescue or the beginning of
Ralphie's journey go to
Update: Chester has decided that living with John is pretty good. He attends car actions frequently where little kids take him for walks. Apparently, he is able to talk the kids out of a few hotdogs now and then. Not a lot of grooming goes on in the winter. where they live, north of Fairbanks, is one of the coldest places I have ever been in Alaska. I got an update call last winter, they had very deep snow and some of the cars that are left parked over the winter had become completely covered. Chester decided that sitting in the snow on top of the cars was a good thing to do. That was all fine and well until he was seen playing with something in the yard which turned out to be the windshield wipers he was pulling off the cars. Imagine an Airedale doing that. The next update call, John thought Chester should have a playmate. Where I became aware of a woman that was looking for a good home for an Airedale puppy, I gave him a call. He didn't waste any time getting there to check her out and she ended up going home with him. These pictures had to be scanned from Xerox copies, so they aren't very clear, but the first picture is Chester and John with one of the restored cars. The second picture is Chester's new "sister", Josie. I get a phone call update on the dogs about every 5 months or so. It seems John is happy with his houseful these days.
